Your local Rochedale house painter
Rochedale sits about 19 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane CBD, inside the City of Brisbane. It shares boundaries with Wishart, Mackenzie, Eight Mile Plains and Burbank. Priestdale Road and Underwood Road mark the line between Brisbane and Logan. At the 2021 census, 91.6 per cent of homes here were separate houses, and 84.1 per cent had four or more bedrooms.
This page covers house painting across Rochedale, inside and out. We work from Wishart, so Rochedale is a short run for us. We cover the surrounding suburbs too, including the house painting we do in Burbank, just to the east.
Rochedale homes are big, and most of them are young. Large wall areas and long runs of eaves, fascia and fencing all weather at the same time. Add a wet, humid summer and the timing of a repaint matters as much as the paint itself. That is the part most quotes skip over, so we have set it out below.

What we paint in Rochedale
We handle both sides of the job. Below is how each one tends to look in Rochedale, with the full detail on our main service pages.

Interior painting
Rochedale interiors are large. Four and five bedroom homes with high ceilings, open living zones and long hallways are the norm here. That means more cutting in, more doors and trim, and more careful staging so families near Rochedale State School can keep living in the house while we work.
Local fact: At the 2021 census, Rochedale homes averaged 4.2 bedrooms, against 3.2 for Queensland as a whole.

Exterior painting
Exteriors here take the full weight of a Brisbane summer. Rendered and clad walls, eaves, gutters, garage doors and long boundary fences all need prep before a single litre goes on. Newer estate homes near Rochedale Village often come up first, because builder-grade coatings on west-facing walls fade before the rest of the house does.
Local fact: Rochedale's population more than doubled between the 2016 and 2021 censuses, so a large share of local homes hit their first repaint at the same time.
Why the wet season changes the job
Brisbane's rain is not spread evenly through the year. It stacks up over summer, which is exactly when heat and humidity are also at their worst. Paint still goes on in those months, but drying and recoat times stretch out, and an afternoon storm can undo a morning's work. Planning the run of the job around that is the difference between a finish that lasts and one that lifts.
Practical adjustments:
We book exterior work around the forecast, not just the calendar, and we stage walls so nothing is left half-coated overnight.
We check moisture in render and timber before priming, rather than assuming a surface is dry because the sun is out.
We prep west and north-facing walls harder, because they take the most heat load through summer.
We seal fascia, eaves and fence tops properly, since these are the first places water sits after a storm.
Local fact: At the Bureau of Meteorology's Brisbane station, February, March, January and December are the four wettest months of the year, and the site has averaged 74.3 days a year at 30°C or above.
The honest caveat: How often a Rochedale home needs repainting depends on aspect, exposure, substrate and how the last coat was applied. We will not quote a fixed number of years. We look at the house and tell you what we actually see.
The practical side
Rochedale is two suburbs in one: tight new estate streets, and older acreage blocks with long driveways. How we set up changes depending on which one you are in.
On newer estate streets, blocks are close together and verges are narrow, so we park tight and keep the footpath clear for neighbours and prams.
Larger two-storey homes on sloping ground need proper scaffolding or elevated access, which we plan at quote stage rather than on the morning.
Council is building the missing Gardner Road link between Priestdale Road and Underwood Road, with new signals at School Road and Priestdale Road. If your street feeds off that stretch, we plan deliveries around it.
Storm season affects scheduling more than anything else here, so we keep exterior stages flexible and confirm each day rather than locking a rigid run.
Traffic on Gardner Road and Miles Platting Road builds around school times near Rochedale State High School and Redeemer Lutheran College, so we time material drops outside those windows.
Local fact: Brisbane City Council lists the Gardner Road project timeframe as late 2026 to mid-2028.
Getting to us
We are based in Wishart, one of the suburbs bordering Rochedale to the north-west. In practice that means we are only a few minutes away, so quoting and call-backs are easy to arrange.
From Rochedale, the simplest run is north on Gardner Road, then west along Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road through Mackenzie and into Wishart. Coming the other way from the western side of the suburb, Miles Platting Road connects Rochedale across to Eight Mile Plains and the Gateway Motorway interchange.
Eight Mile Plains house painter FAQs
Rochedale and Rochedale South are two different suburbs in two different councils. Priestdale Road and Underwood Road form the boundary, with Rochedale in the City of Brisbane and Rochedale South in Logan. We paint homes in both, but this page is about Rochedale, postcode 4123.
Often, yes, and sooner than owners expect. Builder-grade coatings on new estate homes can start fading on sun-facing walls well before the rest of the house shows it. A lot of Rochedale homes were built in the same short window, so plenty of them are hitting that point together.
The drier, cooler months are usually the easiest run for exteriors. Summer is when Brisbane gets most of its rain, and humidity slows drying between coats. We still paint through summer, we just build more flexibility into the schedule.
Less than most people expect, if it is staged properly. We work room by room or zone by zone so you keep a usable part of the house throughout. Larger Rochedale floor plans actually make this easier, because there is somewhere to move to.
No. Council's Gardner Road project is a staged build with access maintained, and we plan material drops and parking around it. If your street feeds off that section, we will confirm timing with you before we start.
